Baseline by A5 Labs · MCP

Equity research in your AI workflow.

Use Baseline's research data and your watchlists directly from Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, or another client that supports remote MCP servers and OAuth.

Explore company scores and the research behind them, screen stocks by qualitative criteria, and manage your watchlists.

Connect to Baseline

You need a Baseline account and a client that supports Streamable HTTP with OAuth. Sign in or create your account at Baseline.

Server URL:

https://baseline.a5labs.com/mcp

Claude

  1. Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Enter Baseline and the server URL above.
  3. Connect, sign in to Baseline in the browser, and approve access.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user baseline https://baseline.a5labs.com/mcp
claude

Type /mcp, select baseline, choose Authenticate, then sign in and approve access in your browser.

Cursor and other MCP clients

Add a remote MCP server using the URL above and follow your client's OAuth connection flow. For Cursor, use this entry in your MCP configuration:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "baseline": {
      "url": "https://baseline.a5labs.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

After approval, supported clients refresh your connection automatically.

What you can ask

Research results include their update dates. Figures reflect the research at that time and are not live market prices. Production MCP requires an eligible Consumer, Professional, or Enterprise subscription for research and watchlist tools. Eligible subscribers have unlimited MCP calls. If an upgrade is needed, use the Subscribe to Consumer link in the tool response. Sign in to the same Baseline account if prompted; Baseline then opens checkout automatically. See plans and pricing.

Tools and permissions

Baseline exposes seven read-only tools and four watchlist tools. Creating a watchlist or adding a stock is non-destructive. Deleting a watchlist or removing a stock is destructive. Watchlist changes apply to the signed-in user's account and appear in the Baseline app.

Baseline catalog

baseline_catalog

List the Baseline research catalog: every scored field (with hierarchy), valid field names, and the sectors covered.

Read-only

Baseline tickers

baseline_tickers

List stock tickers known to Baseline, with pagination and optional exact ticker/country filters. Listings cover enabled-for-Baseline stocks (matching the catalog's sector counts); exact ticker lookups also match disabled rows. Pass include_disabled=true to list everything.

Read-only

Baseline results for a stock

baseline_results

Fetch a stock's full Baseline results — score, summary AND the complete result document (rationale + analysis matrices), exactly what opening the result in the Baseline app shows. Results are sorted by updated_at, newest first, with fields without results last. Ticker in SYMBOL.COUNTRY format, e.g. MSFT.US. Only score/group fields carry a score; data fields (e.g. Market Cap) return their datum in value/value_array with score null — Market Cap value is USD (see value_currency). Full documents are included by default; include_documents=false returns scores without documents.

Read-only

Baseline scores for stocks

baseline_scores

Scores for MANY stocks in ONE call — use this instead of calling a per-stock tool repeatedly. Pass watchlist (name or id) for one watchlist, tickers for a list of stocks, or neither to get every stock in all of the user's watchlists. fields is optional: omit it for every scored field, or name fields/groups (a group also returns its sub-scores). Returns one compact row per stock: {field: score} plus as_of date; no research documents. include_rationale=true adds the short written rationale per score (keep fields narrow when you do). Data fields (e.g. Market Cap) appear under values only when named. For the full analysis behind one score use baseline_rationale.

Read-only

Baseline rationale for a stock

baseline_rationale

Fetch the written research rationale behind a stock's Baseline scores. Each entry carries updated_at; figures reflect that date and are not live market data. Results are sorted by updated_at, newest first. Up to 5 requested fields; groups expand into their descendants. Responses are capped at 24,000 serialized characters. Repeat with pagination.next_cursor and the same ticker/fields until null. Oversized individual entries use fragment: concatenate its text in offset order for that entry_index, then JSON-parse to recover the complete entry. A fragment is incomplete research until assembled.

Read-only

Query stocks by one score

baseline_query_by_score

Find stocks whose score on ONE Baseline field matches a condition, optionally narrowed by sector and/or country. Results are sorted by the matched result's updated_at, newest first. Supports one score condition per query.

Read-only

Screen stocks on multiple conditions

baseline_screen

Structured screener: AND-combine up to 5 score conditions (e.g. Business Quality >= 4 AND Pricing Power >= 4), optionally filtered by sector/country. Results are sorted by updated_at of the first condition's result, newest first. Returns compact rows with every requested score per stock.

Read-only

List my watchlists

baseline_watchlists

List the user's Baseline watchlists with their stocks.

Read-only

Create a watchlist

baseline_create_watchlist

Create a new Baseline watchlist for the user. Names are unique per user.

Write · non-destructive

Delete a watchlist

baseline_delete_watchlist

Delete one of the user's watchlists (and its stock entries). Irreversible.

Write · destructive

Add a stock to a watchlist

baseline_watchlist_add_stock

Add a stock (SYMBOL.COUNTRY, e.g. MSFT.US) to one of the user's watchlists.

Write · non-destructive

Remove a stock from a watchlist

baseline_watchlist_remove_stock

Remove a stock (SYMBOL.COUNTRY) from one of the user's watchlists.

Write · destructive

OAuth scopes: baseline:read and baseline:watchlists. The connector provides research and watchlist access; it does not provide account settings or trading tools.
